Leading for Inclusion in Tech

Research shows the more diverse the team, the higher the productivity, creativity and profitability. Still, only about 5 % of developers in Sweden are women. So, how can you as an employer attract the talent - and retain the competence?

Welcome to Leading for Inclusion in Tech - an interactive course with hands-on tools to help companies appeal to female developers and create an inclusive workplace with a diverse workforce where employees can thrive, no matter of gender, background or age.

The course is built on research and unique experience and insights from female  developers in the Pink Programming network, and developed and delivered with Teller Agency, experts on inclusive leadership. The course combines lecture parts with interactive breakout sessions. Course leader Alexandra Antgren, member of Pink Programming and developer at Northvolt, will share her and other women's experiences and you will get concrete tools on how to create an inclusive workplace.

Course content 

The course will consist of lectures, discussions and interaction on how to address and create change. One course consists of 2 sessions of 3 hours each, with a couple of weeks break for reflections, homework and practice learnings at your workplace.

Participants will gain knowledge on:

  • The premises to create and maintain an inclusive work environment
  • Which aspects female developers considers important in their employer
  • The mechanisms behind employer branding that appeals to a diverse pool of applicants
  • How to write inclusive recruitment ads 
  • How your brand and communication, as an employer, is perceived


At the end of the course you will have a digital toolbox to help you transform your learnings into practice at your workplace.

Who can participate?

Leading for Inclusion in Tech is targeting companies who wants to be a leading employer with an inclusive work environment. The course is best suited for managers, leaders and people operations representatives.

Language

The course will be delivered in English.

Pink Programming is Sweden’s largest non-profit community for female developers. Over the years we have gained unique insights from thousands of women in the industry who have shared their experiences with us. We have teamed up with Teller Agency, leading experts in gender equality and inclusive recruitment, to combine our knowledge with evidence based research and statistics. The result is a unique, interactive course, focusing on improving gender equality at workplaces through recruitment and inclusive work environments.

Alexandra is working as a software engineer at Northvolt. She thinks it's important with an inclusive work environment where you feel respected, no matter who you are. She has been involved in Pink Programming since 2017 and is passionate about increasing diversity in the tech world.
